Professor Olukunmi ‘Lanre OLAITAN

Prof. Olukunmi Lanre OLAITAN is a Professor in the Department of Health Promotion & Environmental Health Education, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria. He is a Sexuality, Reproductive & Family Health Specialist, including Human Fertility, HIV/AIDS, Public Health Education & Promotion, Nutrition Education, Nursing, Women and Adolescent Health, Wellness & Fitness Health, and PHE Curriculum Expert. He has over 24 years of University teaching experience.

He holds a Diploma in Physical and Health Education with a Distinction grade from the University of Lagos. B.Sc. (Ed) Degree in Health Education with a First Class Honours. M. Ed. Degree in Health Education with a Distinction grade from University of Ilorin and He is the very first person to hold a PhD Degree in Reproductive and Family Health in Nigeria. He is also a Registered Nurse certified by Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

He holds Certificates in Introduction to Early Childhood Development, Certificate in Emergency Obstetrics and Newborn Care, Certificate in Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health, Certificate in Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting, and Certificate in Gender and Sexual and Reproductive Health, all from Global Health eLearning Centre United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, Maryland, USA. He also holds Certificate in Hepatitis from SCOTV in the United Kingdom and Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovative Education from the University of Turku, Finland.

He holds a Professional Teacher’s Certificate from the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria. And he is a Team Lead/Resource Person on accreitation of Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) of the Teachers Regustration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) to many Institutions in Nigeria.

He holds many Honours, Distinctions and Membership of Learned Societies and Professional Bodies both nationally and internationally.

Professor Olukunmi Lanre Olaitan, has made remarkable strides in the academic world, consistently topping the charts on ResearchGate for his contributions to Health Promotion, Science, and Education. His contributions have consistently garnered impressive attention December 2024 till date. His work achieved new reads, making it the most read contribution from Nigeria and his research further reached global recognition in January 2025 as the most read item globally.

He has attended many conferences, seminars and workshops locally, nationally and internationally, not only as a participant, but also as a resource person.

He has published over 160 academic research articles in reputable journals of local, national and international outlets.

He is married to Magistrate Omolola Olaitan and Blessed with 3 kids
